Black Rock Freight House

68 – 120 Tonawanda Street, Buffalo, NY

Former Village of Black Rock

History:

Built by New York Central Railroad to store and facilitate freight traveling along the “Belt Line” that encircled the City of Buffalo.

Adaptive Reuse:

35 market-rate apartments and a hatchet-throwing club and pub for Hatchets & Hops

The Monroe Building

1786 Main Street, Buffalo, NY
Neighborhood:

Between the Linwood-Oxford neighborhood

History:

The iconic Record Theatre was a 1920s auto dealership for the Monroe Motorcar Company.

Adaptive Reuse:

20 apartments and 12,000 square feet of commercial space containing a mix of food, retail, small offices, and neighborhood shops that open onto an activated multi-purpose courtyard as well as activate the ornate showroom.
